Location: The address of UBarU is 277 U-Bar-U Drive, Mountain Home TX 78058, but this address does not show up on many maps programs. We are at the end of Thrill Hill Dr so put "Thrill Hill Dr" in the GPS and you will see our signs at the end of the road. For more help with directions, contact Robyn Stout at director@ubaru.org. If you get lost en route, call UBarU: 830-460-6002.
Schedule: Official registration will begin at 5:00 pm; the UBarU gates will be unlocked and participants may arrive any time after 4:00 pm on Friday. Friday dinner will begin at 6:30. The retreat will be over by 10:30 am on Monday. A daily schedule will be sent to participants before the retreat.
Accommodations: We will be sleeping in the new Dwight & Marie Brown Center in the private rooms with queen-sized beds in each suite. Some folks will be staying in cottages as well. If you have a strong preference about your sleeping placement, please email me at director@ubaru.org after you register. Tent camping (bring your own tent) is also allowed. Each bunkhouse suite has central heat and air and one common bathroom. Additional bathrooms, sinks, and shower stalls are available one door down. If you believe you need special sleeping accommodations, please email director@ubaru.org when you register.
What to bring:
- Toiletries
- Towel & washcloth
- Pillow, sheets & blanket (or sleeping bag)
- Comfortable clothing (weather is unpredictable, so prepare accordingly)
- Sturdy, comfortable shoes (especially if you plan to hike, as the terrain is rocky.)
- Flashlight – alarm clock
- Of course, any and all of your fiber arts supplies!
- Optional:
- Binoculars for bird watching
- Anything you would enjoy doing during free time: reading, journaling or drawing materials, puzzles, cards, board games, etc.
- Snacks and/or beverages (alcohol is permitted)
Food: All meals, from Friday dinner through Monday breakfast, will be provided. When you register, you will be able to indicate a preference for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free cuisine. We will accommodate other special dietary needs as we are able.
