Facilities
Our gorgeous 142-acre campus is located in the heart of the lovely Texas Hill Country. The structures on our property consist of The Rev. Dwight and Marie Brown Center center capable of housing up to 60 guests, three cozy cottages, a traditional Quaker style meeting house with space for group activities and dining. We have a refreshing 35' limestone rock pool with a sun deck. Activities at UBarU include: ping pong, foos-ball tables, a bocce-ball court, horseshoes, volleyball, a tree house, poker table, puzzles, games, a full size piano, two meditative labyrinths, outdoor chapel, walking trails and a large fire circle surrounded by comfortable handmade benches constructed by our own Senior High Summer campers.

The Dwight & Marie Brown Center
This is our primary residential facility, completed in June, 2014. The center consists of two centrally air conditioned and/or heated wings, each containing two bedroom suites and a central gender-specific, multi-person bathroom. The wings are separated by a central breezeway which provides access to the suites, central bathrooms, and laundry. Each suite contains a bunk area, two smaller private bedrooms, and a gender-neutral, full bathroom; within each suite, the bunk area has four double bunks, and the private rooms contain: one double bunk plus a queen-size bed (all bunks are extra length.) The maximum capacity of a suite is 15 people, and the maximum capacity for the building is 60, however single suites or individual private rooms may be reserved separately. The building is ADA handicap accessible, including both central bathrooms, and two of the single bathrooms. There is also a large air-conditioned gathering area that is suitable for meetings, classes such as yoga, or just socializing and hanging out.
The Meeting House
The Meeting House is the main location for indoor group activities, meetings and dining. It is centrally cooled and heated, with Wi-Fi and contains a full commercial kitchen which is staff-operated and/or supervised for all kitchen use and dining. There is an open meeting space for up to 60-65 individuals and dining available for up to 60 people per meal. There is one bunk bedroom that can sleep up to 4 people, two bathrooms, and a half bath in the bunk room that is moderately handicap accessible (not fully ADA accessible.) There are numerous games, books, and a piano inside for recreational use; and a wide, covered porch along two sides of the building with ample seating and tables for relaxing and enjoying the Hill Country atmosphere. Immediately outside of and next to the Meeting House are picnic tables under large, shade tree, and a fire pit with bench seating for evening campfires. This area also provides the venues for the outside games such as horseshoes and bocce ball.
The Cottages
There are three self-contained cottages appropriate for individuals, couples, families or small groups. These are ideal for a weekend get-away or private retreat, and may be reserved independently or as part of a larger group event. Each cottage has a single full bathroom, refrigerator, kitchenette, sitting area, and bed accommodations specific for the cottage. All cottages are air conditioned and heated, and have Wi-Fi access. None of the cottages are handicap accessible. There is a two night minimum for all rentals.
Hermitage Cottage (straw bale house)
Hermitage is the largest of our three cottages. Along with Sojourner, The Hermitage is of Straw Bale construction. It is a large studio including private bath and FULL kitchen. A small deck outside the double doors is a perfect place to enjoy the Texas Hill Country air.
The beds in the cottage include three double bunk beds, one futon/double-bed, a "pull out" couch and a day bed with trundle - sleeping up to 10 guests.
On a chilly night, a good book and a warm fire in the woodstove make Hermitage a very special place.
Ranch House Cottage
This cottage is up on the hill and features a lovely porch to enjoy the evening breezes and a fenced yard for your four legged friends.
The Ranch House is a large studio with a private bath and FULL Kitchen.The accommodations include one king size bed, one double bunk, and one double bed. The Ranch House can welcome up to 6 guests.
Sojourner Cottage (straw bale house)
Sojourner is unique among the cottages. The hardwood floors, two private bedrooms and living area with futon make it a perfect getaway for families and friends.
This cottage has partial kitchen including full-size refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven. One private bedroom features a queen size bed and one bedroom contains a double bed.
Sojourner can accommodate up to 6 guests.
