We will continue with various health precautions as well as encouraging campers to come to camp healthy and vaccinated! Healthy Camper precautions planned at this time, include pre-camp temperature/symptom logging, COVID testing as warranted, temperature checks at camp, and other modifications as guidelines recommend.
We plan to offer many of the camp activities from camp swimming, archery, community service, walking the labyrinth, camp meetings, games, crafts, worship and U-cubed (our RE-like time lead by the UU camp chaplain). We will spend lots of time having FUN while we deepen our UU faith!
All meals and lodging are included from Sunday dinner through Saturday breakfast. Campers are to arrive beginning 4 p.m. on the Sunday of the first day of camp and will be ready to leave by 10:30 the Saturday of the last day of camp (11:30am for Senior camp).
Scholarship applications will be accepted thru Active December 1, 2024 through February 28, 2025. A scholarship application fee of $140 will be applied toward camp cost for your camper. A typical family contribution is $260.00 for each camper. Scholarships of varying amounts are given from UBarU Camp & Retreat Center based on congregational, cluster or other contributions and funds available. Your home church (if applicable) is asked to match contributions from UBarU. Ask your DRE, your minister, cluster and/or board president for support in sending youth to summer camp at UBarU. If you live in North Texas, apply for NTUUC assistance at scholarship. Please contact director@ubaru.org with information about scholarship commitments from your local UU community as soon as they are made. Once the funding has been established and communicated, your scholarship application can be converted by the UBarU director into a camp registration.
Email- director@ubaru.org with questions about camp, scholarship, or being an adult counselor, etc. Adults and youth who are selected as counselors or JC’s will be offered a discount on camp registration. If you would like to be part of summer camp adult staff, please read the information provided and submit the appropriate application. Thank you!
